LGBTIQA+ Memorial EOI - Stage One

Yarra City Council is collaborating with the LGBTIQA+ Community to create a permanent memorial for the City of Yarra. The memorial will recognise the loss of community members who have died of suicide. This is a significant new public art commission with a total project budget of $350,000. Collingwood Town Hall Park (formally St Phillips Reserve) at 140 Hoddle Street, Abbotsford will be home to the memorial.

It is anticipated that the memorial will be completed and installed in 2026.

We are now accepting EOIs from artists.

Eligibility

Victorian artists that identify as part of the LGBTIQA+ Community, working in all media and in all stages of their career, with a strong history of producing public art works are encouraged to apply.

The memorial will be commissioned through a two-step process.
